Portland Youth Climate Strike is a collective of young people dedicated to the intersectional fight for climate justice. By educating and mobilizing our peers, we strive to make climate action an urgent priority in city and statewide politics.

"Centering youth voices in the climate movement is so important because we face the future. Our generation is forced to live with the ongoing impacts of climate change, so uplifting the perspectives of youth seems like the only appropriate option. We need initiative, and we need it now. The best thing anyone can do is elevate the voices of those who want to make change, and right now, that is us."

As a youth organizer, I understand the importance of demanding justice for the communities harmed by the climate crisis for both current and future generations. We have grown up in a time where the climate crisis has become increasingly more prevalent, and we know that in order to combat it, we need policy and system change. Our collective perspectives give us power, and by coming together our voice will be louder. We have hope for a better, equitable future, and that hope is crucial in making change."
