"Don’t Shoot Portland is a Black-led human rights nonprofit that advocates for accountability. Since 2014, we have implemented art, education and civic participation within our programming to create social change. Our organizing and activism work include educational workshops to support the outreach of our continued advocacy as first respondents and has helped community members contribute through direct engagement and legislative value. There are a vast amount of policy based assets influenced and being harnessed in our strategic building of relationships and networks used toward the shift in culture and systemic discrimination. Activists from the front line need to be encouraged to continue frank and honest conversations about our connection with Ferguson, race in America and its influence within politics."
“Through educating and empowering today’s Asian-American communities, Project Lotus advances the movement of Asian-American’s blossoming and addressing mental health stigma, shame, and overall perception and care of mental health.”
We are a "Collective of Black youth and our allies fighting for Black liberation. Join us for youth-led marches and events across Portland."
"APANO unites Asians and Pacific Islanders to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work. We envision a just world where Asians and Pacific Islanders and communities who share our aspirations and struggles have the power, resources, and voice to determine our own futures, and where we work in solidarity to drive political, social, economic, and cultural change."
